What Carries Can I Do With a Woven Wrap
that is around 3.6 or 3.7 meters (size 4)?

These some of the carries Diana can do with a 3.6 or 3.7 meter wrap, also known as Size 4, or an EXTRA-SMALL.

Click here to see what carries Diana can do with other wrap sizes.

If you are a different size, click here to see other mamas modeling the different wrap sizes.

Diana is 5'3 and around 114 lbs.  I use a 4.2 meter wrap as a full length wrap (we judge my full length wrap as the shortest length that I can comfortably use to do a Front Wrap Cross Carry).  If you can do a FWCC with a 4.2 meter wrap, you may find that you can do these carries with a 3.6 wrap:

Front Cross Carry with a sleeping toddler and a size 4 woven (about 3.7 meters)

Front Cross Carry

This carry is great for a newborn or toddler and takes a little less fabric than a Front Wrap Cross Carry.  Because this size 4 is an Ellevill which is a brand with long tapered ends, I can do a FCC with my toddler.  I might not have been able to do it with this size in a different brand.

Nursing toddler cradle position in an abreviated FWCC with a size 4 woven (3.7 meters)

Abbreviated Front Wrap Cross Carry - Nursing Toddler in Cradle Position

The link shows how to do an upright abbreviated or Short FWCC, but here I have wrapped around my 20 month old while he was nursing on my lap so he is in a cradle position.  The strap coming over my right shoulder is going between his legs instead of around both legs.  Do whatever works best for you and your baby or toddler!

Kangaroo Carry with 3.7 meter woven wrap

Kangaroo Carry is a good basic front carry.

This wrap is an Ellevill which runs a little long because of the long tapered ends.  You can see here that this wrap is really too long for a Kangaroo Carry.  I could do it with a 3.2 meter wrap (size 3) or I could reinforce this carry by crossing the end around my son's bottom and bringing around to tie in back.

Burp Hold (high FCC) with a 3.7 meter woven wrap

The burp hold is really a Front Cross Carry (FCC) with baby oriented very high on one shoulder--in burp position.  It is most often used with a young infant and is nice for babies that are hard to settle, or who want a look around while being worn.

3.7 meters is a little short for me to do a standard FCC, but because baby is higher in a burp hold, this wrap is just long enough.

Nursing Hip Cross Carry in a 3.7 meter woven wrap

Hip Cross Carry is a nice hip carry that can be pretied and it is easy to pop your baby or toddler in and out without removing the wrap (known as a poppable carry).

As you can see, it is also great for nursing on the go.

infant Robins Hip Carry with a 3.7 meter wrap

Robin's Hip Carry

Robin's Hip Carry is a comfortable and pretty hip carry.  You can wear it oriented on your chest for a little infant, as in this picture, or on your hip though toddlerhood!

Robin's Hip Carry

Here is a Robin's Hip Carry with an older baby, and you can see how long the 3.7 meter wrap is in this carry.  With this length, I could cross the wrap between baby's legs and tie behind my back if I wanted.  The cross could be spread over baby to make a reinforced carry.

Rucksack Carry with a 3.7 meter woven wrap

Rucksack Back Carry

A Rucksack is a fast and easy back carry that can be done with a short wrap with babies and toddlers.

Rucksack crossed in front with a 3.7 meter woven wrap

Rucksack Crossed Over Chest

This Rucksack variation crosses over my chest instead of coming straight down in front of my shoulder in backpack-style straps.  Great for people who find rucksack straps uncomfortable.  This takes a little more fabric than the standard rucksack, but 3.7 meters is still plenty for this one.

Rucksack with 3.7 meter woven wrap - twins tandem wearing

Rucksack for Tandem Wrapping

Here you can see that this length is just right for combining a rucksack carry with a front carry in a different wrap if you have two to wrap!

You'll notice the tails are longer in this rucksack than in the rucksack with my older baby above, because this baby is so small--probably around 6 lbs.

3 year old rucksack carry with 3.5 meter woven wrap Biotiful

3 year old Rucksack

This wrap is a little short at 3.5 meters.  It is just right for a rucksack with my big 3 year old at close to 30 lbs.

Double Hammock Rebozo

Again with the short 3.5 meter wrap, this is still plenty for a DHR back Carry, which puts baby in two hammocks just like regular Double Hammock, but then brings one end under your shoulder to tie in front--a shorter, one-shouldered version of the carry which is very comfortable and supportive due to the chest pass.

Christina's Ruckless Back Carry

This is a carry for people who don't like Rucksack straps.  It is a supportive, multi-layer carry, nice for toddlers, and has comfortable shoulder straps that won't ride up on your neck.  3.7 meters is just long enough for me, with the long Ellevill tapers.
