Step 1. Here I used the toss method to get baby on my back
Step 2. Bring the left strap over your head so that you have one end over each shoulder.
Step 3. One at a time bring the straps around your arms so that they are hanging by your side instead of over your shoulders. Keep tension on the straps at all times to hold baby securely to your back (or keep a hand on baby).
Step 4. Hold both ends tight in one hand and with the other hand reach back to pull the fabric of the wrap down to baby’s knees, and up to a big baby’s armpits or a little baby’s head.
Step 5. Holding the left end of the wrap between your knees (tension on the wrap is still supporting baby) bring the right end across your torso and over your left shoulder
Step 6. Reach behind you with both hands to spread the wrap behind baby’s back. With the wrap over your left shoulder you should hold the bottom edge of the wrap in your left hand and the top edge (the edge near your neck) in your right hand. Stretch the wrap out fully and bring it up as high as you can.
Step 7. Tuck the wrap under baby’s right leg, trying not to lower it more than you have to. The fabric should be across baby’s back and around baby’s bottom as shown. Baby’s arms can be tucked in if baby allows it (mine does not) so that the fabric is over baby’s shoulder as well. This is more secure and better for small babies.
Step 8. Now take the other end of the wrap, bring it across from your left side to your right shoulder.
Step 9. Spread the wrap behind baby’s back as before, right hand on the bottom, left hand on the top.
Step 10. Tuck under baby’s left leg.
Step 11. Tighten by hopping up to take baby’s weight off the wrap and pulling on both ends at once.
Step 12. Tie at your waist.
Step 13. Pull the fabric away from your neck if it is uncomfortable so that it lies comfortably on top of your shoulder. You can also fold the fabric near your neck over so that it does not rub against the neck.
